For our field trip class this morning, we went to Vila Olimpica, which is a neighborhood in Barcelona that was built when the Olympics came to town. It's down by the water and has some intriguing architecture and sculptures. For example, there is a work of modern art that is symbolic of the railroad tracks that used to run down the street. I think it is interesting how the past is remembered through modern art and architecture. We walked around the blocks and learned about the buildings and what not. Our last stop was at the beach. While we were just sitting there on a bench staring at the ocean, Brian asked me how many times I have ever had class at the beach. The two of us then went to a mall in Vila Olimpica and had some lunch. We then met everyone else at the metro and headed back to studio.
