The first day of classes went alright. We took the metro to the university in the morning for Spanish, which was about a half hour metro ride. When we got there we all had to take a brief test so they could see how our Spanish was. The books they gave were Level A1 so I don't think our group did so well on the test. But at least we are all together. We were worried we were going to get split up into different classes. The teacher seems pretty nice too. The class shouldn't be too bad.
After class we had about 3 hours until our next class. We walked off campus and split up into small groups. Tom, Brian, Ben, and I went to this cafe/diner for lunch. It was a reasonable price and had a mean atun sandwich. We then went to this park that had a small palace in it, right next to the university. The rest of our group was there so I guess we all had the same idea. Most of us took a nap on the grasss for an hour after we walked around the park. We then had history class in the architecture building at 3 30. We had a lecture in Spanish from this one architect while Felipe translated the lecture as it went along.
After the lecture we had a tour of the architecture building. They have 2,500 students enrolled in their program. They don't provide individual desks, however, because that would take up a lot of room.
We came back to our apartment and did some grocery shopping, had sandwiches for dinner, and went to bed early. It was a long first day.
