Parc de la Ciutadella

I am sad that I missed my family reunion. I always enjoy going to it. I hope I will be able to go on the camping trip Memorial Day Weekend with my cousins. I am not sure if I will be able to. I may have to work on campus that weekend since I will be missing the first few days of work (assuming I get the job).

I looked more into the Skype program. I downloaded it on my computer and it allows me to call land lines in the US. The rate is $0.02 a minute for international calls, but the web site says it is going up to about $0.04 a minute. It is a pretty good deal so I am going to try it out. Hopefully it will work alright. Tom and Meg each have a headset so I can just borrow theirs hopefully.

There are dogs everywhere here. When someone goes into a store, the dog just waits in the middle of the sidewalk. The dogs here are very obedient, just running around and coming as soon as they are called. My dog needs to study abroad here.
We went to mass this morning at St. Maria's, which is across the street from our studio. We then walked down to the Arch of Triumph and through the City Park. There was a lake in the park with people rowing boats. It costs 2 euros per person for half an hour. I would like to do that sometime. It is similar to the paddle boats on the tidal basin. There was also a large fountain with a man made waterfall feeding it. It was awesome. The park was filled with people just lounging in the open grass and dogs were running everywhere. It was very relaxing walking through the park. At the end of the park was the zoo, but we didn't go in because we are saving that for another day. We then walked down to the beach and saw the Mediterranean. We then hiked back to the apartment and then went out to dinner. We did some grocery shopping earlier so our apartment is pretty good as far as food goes. However, we couldn't eat here today because we couldn't figure out how to use the oven. We are watching a video about how to use it tomorrow when we go to pay our rent. Right now we are all just tired from walking all day so I don't know what is going to happen next. We were supposed to go to the other apartment and hang out but we are all so tired. I wouldn't mind going to bed soon. We did a lot of walking today and I am pretty beat.

PS The dogs here are either the size of a horse or the size of a rat. It is funny. We saw some BIG dogs today and almost stepped on a couple others.
